February News + Valentine’s Events

This month, along with January numbers, I offer up a few ideas for those keen on avoiding dinner out on Valentine’s evening.

Market stats for January 2018 Davidson county are here. Williamson county stats are here. While the number of sales are down from January 2017 numbers, the median price has risen and the market has started strong in the new year.

Valentine’s themed events are plentiful. For those who’d rather not fight the crowds for a dinner reservation on the day, here’s some options to consider both before, and after the 14th.

There’s an intimate dinner catered by Charles Hunter III of The Salted Table, at the beautiful home of Colleen Locke of Alabaster Collective and Trot Home. A multi-course menu with dessert and a musician is being served up for his guests. We attended last year, and recommend it. Insider tip: Remember to BYO if you want to drink anything other than water, or the cocktail offered with appetizers! Tickets are here.

This year I plan to attend Galentines with some friends, because why not!? This fun event, catered by Juniper Green at Poppy and Monroe will benefit Thistle Farms. Good food and pampering for a worthy cause is my kind of ladies night! Update: This event is now sold out.

Vivek’s Epicurean Adventures aka VEA Supper Club is throwing a Reeve Wines dinner. Hosted at The Treehouse, the menu/wine pairings below look amazing.  Tickets are here.

2016 Anderson Valley Riesling

Duck Breast, Coriander, Fennel, Rose, Foie Gras

Speaking of chocolate….If you appreciate all that the cocoa bean has to offer, check out the truffle making class at Tempered Café and Chocolate. Wow your loved ones with a sweet treat made with your own 2 hands! Tickets are hereFun Fact: Tempered also offers the Green Hour Thursday-Saturday, where you can embrace your inner Oscar Wilde with Absinthe tasting. La Louche is alive and well in Nashville!

Last but not least, I have (yet another) new website, as the back end of the last one was NOT user friendly, so it was time to revamp. Have a great weekend!

Until next time!
